Changing the look of my blog again, I am not very good at keeping this going, at least with a lot of word play. just WIPs and Renders. so now only finished work will be shared and very little if any reading.
Most “CGI modellers” and 2d artist like to try their hand at tweaking the classic Enterprise design, this is mine and I finally finished it for the last time recently, I started the bloody thing in 2017. But really in 2012, before other projects drew my attention away like the Nautilus.
If you check back here from time to time or on Facebook you will know I increased the scale from 947ft to 1311.5ft but retained the overall design approach only tweaking the surface details docking hatches and lighting like the Refit, though a number of commenter have asked why the additional structures on the Warp engines, simply I added them to quickly and easily identify that this is not the classic and Iconic original.
I should also state that it was never my original goal to increase the scale, as I model to scale to the best of my ability it grew out of an effort to make things (as I understand them) to fit.
Ships based on the originals if not completely new though reimagined, the main difference is that the central design the USS Enterprise is larger than the given scale accepted of the design going from 947ft to 1311.5ft, with that as a template all other designs that followed. 01 Constitution Class 02 Reliant Class (a variant of the Miranda Class) 03 Miranda Class 04 Loknar Class 05 Hutzel Class 06 Drexler Class 07 Oberth Class The Last 4 classes are able to use a Cargo Mandible Attachment (CMA) for cargo or passenger pods or mission specific science pods for greater ability, the Constitution class by virtue of its design has no need of a (CMA) science pods.
I have been working on a few designs to add to my Reimagined Constitution Class, my final Starship to be completed is called the Drexler class, for now at least, though I would like to have a go at smaller classes like Oberth Class with a TOS spin and service design like cargo designs. 6 classes in all. 01 Constitution Class 02 Reliant Class (a variant of the Miranda Class I am aware they are the same but fan’s canon as called the Refit Constitution, the Enterprise Class ) 03 Miranda Class 04 Loknar Class 05 Hutzel Class 06 Drexler Class Last two named after Gary Hutzel and Doug Drexler I will work on other “pods” in the future, perhaps other designs if the mood takes me.
I decided it was time to add to the fleet and the Miranda and the Reliant variant class giving it my own spin in keeping with my reimagined Constitution class.
I choose the names and registries I like seen above ^ and with the question of deflector I have the centre of the 3 “windows” as a forward deflector and the outer 2 as forward sensors, I never liked the Franz Joseph dangling unit on his Ptolemy Class Transport design. In fact why not just have a deflector on the tug section attached as required might work as well and look imv better.

I decided to have a go at a tribute cover, using my re-imagined USS Enterprise rather than the classic.
I also went back and reworked the aft windows on the teardrop section of the primary hull just below the bridge. instead of 2 windows I gave it 3 windows and added some basic features.
I mostly just renders to show of designs. but I was goofing around with this scene and added stars and planet Epsilon III by David cgc and this was the result .. I liked it and decided to post
Starbase 13 was a Federation Starbase located on the edge of the Federation Phalanx, It also was the destination in the Star Trek Novel Enterprise: The First Adventure It was not trying to create a real space scene as I said, I was just playing with the scene and the result was something I liked.
Well a little play with the title, but its my last post for these designs, for the time being, I have the need for a new project and I am looking at a few ideas, but I will be back to it in the near future.
I have wondered from time to time how I would liked to have seen the USS Enterprise or any Star Trek ship from The Original Series era, entering a space dock, in this case one inspired by Franz Joseph early designs, entering one of the 5 bays (Orbs) and then the 5 Inner docks (Connective Tube), which is how I have defined the inner sections of the facility, I do some plans sometime later. but the outer dome area is the Bay (which there are 6 and can hold up to 3 Constitution Class ship, and in my view of Star Trek is the largest man-made vessel, no Dreadnoughts) and the inner is the Dock (6), I will have to add some kind of Dock like mechanisms.
The bussard’s, I imagine power down in set stages as the docking ship enters the inner docking area.. the colourful lights powering down first then the outer orange layer power down before it all goes to a darker shade, then nothing a silver transparency.
1. USS Enterprise approaches the Starbase 2. The USS Enterprise hands over control to dock control and under remote control. 3. Kirk orders the Warp engines to Power Down 4. Commander Scott deactivates the Bussards and Warp Engines 5. The reaction within the Bussards start to cool 6. Within moments the cooling has taken effect and the engines themselves are cold 7. The USS Enterprise now with Warp Power deactivated and crew can disembark, 8. It will take 30 minutes to power up to return to space and roam free.
