Concept Designs “Pathfinder” P1

Pathfinder Spaceship 2085

First design I done in a while, an early Pathfinder design or perhaps the original  (going back to my other design now called the ranger and posted a while ago,  This does not have artificial gravity but in this it has the power to keep a consent thrust at 1-G. Fusion rocket perhaps for long-term acceleration in space.. can land on Earth type gravity wells but no much more, inter-system design, not interstellar, I am playing with some ideas of my own, inspired by the recent discoveries over the last few years, I like to try my had at a story and this design could be featured.. perhaps I am being overly optimistic having this design launch in 2045 AD .. but there is hope that we (humanity) will do these things in the future.

The ship is quite tall and multi levelled,, but a small crew,, perhaps 12 or 20 crew personal, but I am given that some thoughts as the design develops

2145-a

I updated the engines

The main engines are outboard and they have landing struts connect there, clearing the lower section to (maybe has smaller lander pads but also a large hatch and cargo area, landing craft to explore beyond the LZ and to build long term habitats etc ..

2145-b

changed the engine struts

Concept Design: Ranger Class P6

Last post for a time, its the summer and its too good to be in doors looking at pixels and polygons, time to spend time in under the sun and go for some long walks.

Enjoy your summer and I hope its healthy and safe for you, but here is my parting images of the design, no textures and as simple as rendering it in its place

Concept Design: Ranger Class Space Ship

For a change I am working on one of my own designs, one from 2013 called the Pathfinder, intending to be the central design in a film project I was working on with my old friend Dan Baran before his unexpected passing..

I just could not continue working on it, until now. None the less I need a change of scene and step away from Star Trek designs.

Concept Design: Jules Verne’s Nautilus 1

Concept Design: Jules Verne’s Nautilus

Here is my new and latest design, again I am doing the Nautilus but with less attention to Harper Goff’s Disney design and giving a more basic design, It is still in WIP stage and other details need to be worked out..

Slightly longer than the 70 meters length and the 8 meters width as mentioned in the book “Jules Verne,  20000 Leagues Under the Sea”, the extra is taken up by the Spar, Rudder and side Planes, but the shell of the hull is 70 meters.

The Salon is ten meters long, six meters wide, and five meters high.

Buck Rogers In the 25th Century “The Starfighter’

Buck Rogers Starfighter

Another of Ralph McQuarrie designs

A great design, rumour has it that the design was not originally intended for Buck Rogers in the 25th Century staring Gil Gerard and Erin Gray, but for the Glen Larson earlier production, the famous and fabulous  classic series Battlestar Galactica (1978) as the Viper. I am glad they went with that BSG Viper design and the Buck Rogers in the 25th Century inherited this great and I think a more suitable design for Buck Rogers, there is a cross-over day dream I had since the 1980s to this very day.

Starfighter: a 2 seater design
Interesting information I found is that the builders at Universal-Heartland did call this design the Thunder-fighter but if I remember rightly it was going to be called a Starfury and I called the altered design that is seen in the episode “Happy Birthday Buck”

quad-fighter-montage
Quadfighter: a four setter design
I see this almost as a family saloon, but I could see where the need for a larger design people carrier was called for.

traeger-fighter-montageTraeger fighter:a 2 seater
This design only seen once in the Buck Rogers episode called “Happy Birthday, Buck”, for some reason the name Thunder-Fighter suits this design more than the original ship seen
But it stayed in the collective memory of the viewers at the time, I know it did in my mind and what I liked is the extra wings and the built up area forward of the cockpit, gives a complete look to the design and it’s just cool 🙂 by no means perfect.
