Changing the look of my blog again, I am not very good at keeping this going, at least with a lot of word play. just WIPs and Renders. so now only finished work will be shared and very little if any reading.
This is my slightly redesigned Class F Shuttle-craft GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS Dimensions: Length: 27’10.4323″ Height: 9’9.6532″ Width: 17’6.6646″ Minimal Crew: 1 (pilot) Seating Capacity: 7 Max. Range: 5 Parsecs Max. Velocity: W.F. 2.1 Armament: None Defences: Shields.
The stations are as follows Port-side: Helm Environment (Shuttle and Planetary) Medical (Medical equipment is stored here) Starboard: Navigation Communications Engineering Security (Landing party gear is stored here, Phasers etc)
Shuttles assigned to the U.S.S. Enterprise.
USS ENTERPRISE NCC-1701
Herschel /1 Columbus /2 Copernicus /3 Kepler /4 Huygens /5 Einstein /6 Galileo /7 Sagan /8
Ships based on the originals if not completely new though reimagined, the main difference is that the central design the USS Enterprise is larger than the given scale accepted of the design going from 947ft to 1311.5ft, with that as a template all other designs that followed. 01 Constitution Class 02 Reliant Class (a variant of the Miranda Class) 03 Miranda Class 04 Loknar Class 05 Hutzel Class 06 Drexler Class 07 Oberth Class The Last 4 classes are able to use a Cargo Mandible Attachment (CMA) for cargo or passenger pods or mission specific science pods for greater ability, the Constitution class by virtue of its design has no need of a (CMA) science pods.
I have been working on a few designs to add to my Reimagined Constitution Class, my final Starship to be completed is called the Drexler class, for now at least, though I would like to have a go at smaller classes like Oberth Class with a TOS spin and service design like cargo designs. 6 classes in all. 01 Constitution Class 02 Reliant Class (a variant of the Miranda Class I am aware they are the same but fan’s canon as called the Refit Constitution, the Enterprise Class ) 03 Miranda Class 04 Loknar Class 05 Hutzel Class 06 Drexler Class Last two named after Gary Hutzel and Doug Drexler I will work on other “pods” in the future, perhaps other designs if the mood takes me.
I decided it was time to add to the fleet and the Miranda and the Reliant variant class giving it my own spin in keeping with my reimagined Constitution class.
I choose the names and registries I like seen above ^ and with the question of deflector I have the centre of the 3 “windows” as a forward deflector and the outer 2 as forward sensors, I never liked the Franz Joseph dangling unit on his Ptolemy Class Transport design. In fact why not just have a deflector on the tug section attached as required might work as well and look imv better.
For my Re-imagined Constitution Class to finish this project I worked out the maximum amount of shuttles is 8 if the Captain wishes to have a full complement, unless he or she might decide on less. I used the names of those scientists I find interesting for the other shuttles not otherwise having appeared or mentioned in Star Trek.
Name / Episode or Source Aristarchus / Aristarchus of Samos Columbus * / The Galileo Seven Copernicus * / (Star Trek V: The Final Frontier) Kepler / Johannes Kepler Huygens / Christiaan Huygens Einstein * / Metamorphosis (updated VFX) Galileo * / The Galileo Seven Sagan / Carl Sagan
Using this older WIP of the hangar and cargo area to help illustrate, 2 Shuttles could be parked for use in the landing bay launch receiving area, in the deck below reached by the turntable / elevator there is room for 4 shuttles to be stored, then on the lower deck, the main cargo area there is space for 2 more shuttles adding to 8 shuttles.
This could be down to what the Captain wants, might decided on having 4 or 6 is more cargo space is what is needed.
It has been some time since my last post, I have not been very active modelling or rendering wise. most recent a trip to Spain, while I was away I reread Star Trek Chain of Attack by Gene DeWeese 32nd in the sequence for the TOS Era,
While mapping a series of gravitationalanomalies, the USS Enterprise is suddenly hurled millions of light years through space, into a distant galaxy of scorched and lifeless worlds… into the middle of an endless interstellar war. With no way back home, the crippled starship finds itself under relentless and suicidal attack by both warring fleets! And CaptainKirk must gamble the lives of his crew on his ability to stop a war that has raged for centuries – and ravaged a galaxy…
I decided to have a go at a tribute cover, using my re-imagined USS Enterprise rather than the classic.
I also went back and reworked the aft windows on the teardrop section of the primary hull just below the bridge. instead of 2 windows I gave it 3 windows and added some basic features.
