“She has an illusion and you have reality”
Something I have never done before, not that not true I tried years ago before getting into modelling, I created this image but first with my “series” version of the USS Enterprise, it was commented and criticise, so I adjusted my model to better show the first pilot look, but I consider that had Jeffery Hunter had remained with Star Trek for the series, the Enterprise would have looked like Kirk’s, it was a pilot just as “Where no man has gone before” is the unheard of second pilot.
It gave me great pleasure to know that Jeffery Hunter son enjoyed the one of my test images and used it on his Facebook page, I made another image that would work better, but I had a lot of fun doing something slightly different with my models, I hope you like them.
“The Cage” is the first pilot episode It was completed in early 1965

The background art Rapid Nebula by Ali Ries Casperium
I put these two videos together, one showing using WIP renders the approach of the USS Enterprise and powering down.. just a bit of idle fun, and a still image with TAS music that a friend asked if I could create said image to the music..
Well now I have been busy, rendering yes and some more Star Trek using some background art by Ali Ries, GrahamTG and dadrian to bring some energy into them, normally I don’t do action type renders but here for the first time with Phasers firing all or Klingon torpedoes evading,, 99% in Lightwave and a tiny tweaking in Photoshop..
I am going back to doing my own reimagined constitution class this week and I am going if time permits some other designs from the federation moving on to Klingons for the first time since I worked on the bridge or corridors a few years ago.
That should get star trek out of my system for a while, so I have decided to attempt the Battlestar Galactica with my approach to its detailing and arrangement.
Mixed in with some of my own designs.. stay tuned for the WIPs (Work in Progress)
I think that all for now,, … … yes that it..
Oh wait There is a possibility that 3DGladiators will be making a return.
Blog Update Plus
If any who regularly view this Blog may have noticed a change, not a major change in look nor content (or lack thereof), but I have been very busy but not exactly with the results I was hoping.
First for viewers to the blog you will have seen or I hope “No Ads”, yeah. I am sprang for a (com) in this case https://gmd3ddesigns.com/ I needed more space and in the future more again.
So regarding a Members Section, this is for those who may also be Lightwave modellers or artist, I cannot see this been of any use to anyone else as all the art I produce I share here freely and with luck enjoyed or appreciated by you.
The Members Section is an area where I hope to fund this blog to gain more hosting space, but for an automated members I need to upgrade to the Business Plan to be able to use the necessary widget/plug-in.
So how do / can I do it, and would there be an interest in supporting the blog / me in this endeavour, and what can I offer in response, the only thing I can, the models, my meshes I have built over the years and continue to work on and in prove though minus in most cases Textures.
So without a clearway to arrange a member subscription (yearly) I will have to do it manually.
So essentially I am looking for Patrons. I am also looking at Patreon as a possibility, But I hesitate as I have another project where such as Patreon will be of better use so I have created a poll and making easy with a yes – no – maybe.
But please also comment, ask questions or make suggestions, but to answer one possible question: What models/Meshes? Answer All of them including the royalty free models I have on Gumroad..
Perhaps taking on commissions is also an option worthy of consideration, I have done one or two request in the past but for one reason or another I had no time.
I have not been idle, I have over the last week being designing a TOS orbital dry-dock, it has the look of Star Trek The Motion Picture in that its a frame, and I have a shuttle docks in the upper central unit, and Solar panels, normally around a planet / Star-base but it also has fusion reactors and other star trek tech you care to add, it has the same diameter as the Star-base inner working I made a few months ago.

Here is another Nebula scene has been brought to you by the creative art of Casperium aka Ali Ries and mucked about a little by me for the final effect. I must thank Ali for allowing me to play in this neck of the universe.
